The General Fund supports charitable causes throughout the whole Clutha District.  Whether it's enhancing programmes for youth, supporting health and wellness services, or fostering community projects, your donation will be carefully managed and distributed to maximise its effectiveness.

When you contribute to the General Fund, you ensure your generosity has a lasting impact on your community.  This fund is designed to provide support for a wide-range of initiatives, addressing the most pressing needs and opportunities within the Clutha District.

Workplace Giving

Change the world one cup of coffee at a time!

You don't have to be a millionaire to support your community.  All over the Clutha District, generous people give through their payroll a small amount each week.  The tax benefit is applied immediately so if you donate $7.50, it only costs you $5. That's the price of a cup of coffee.

Will that make a difference?  If just 1% of Clutha's population donated $5 a week, it would grow a fund of $750,000 over ten years (at 2% compound interest).

Give to a community endowment fund

Champion long-term transformation in the community you love.

When you give to one of our five Community Endowment Funds, you're investing in the future of the place that matters to you.  Each fund is dedicated to a specific community and every dollar stays local, supporting that community forever.

Why Give to a Community Endowment?

  • Gifts that grow
Once a fund reaches $50,000 the income it generates is distributed annually to local initiatives, creating a ripple of positive change.

  • Local impact, lasting legacy
Your gift becomes part of a permanent fund that supports charitable causes in your chosen community - year after year.

Start a personal endowment fund

Support the causes you love by establishing a private endowment fund.

Creating a personal endowment fund through Clutha Foundation ensures you can focus on the most rewarding part of giving: supporting the causes and places that matter most to you and seeing how your gift makes a difference.

It's a simple and effective way to impact the causes you care about most in your community.

Why give to a personal endowment fund?

  • Support what matters most to you
You choose which local causes, charities, or areas of interest you want your giving to benefit.  We ensure your donation gets there, year after year.

  • Simple & cost effective
A named endowment fund is easier and more affordable than starting a private charitable trust.  We handle all the administration, compliance, and reporting.

  • Transparent & accountable
You'll receive an annual report detailing the grants made from your fund, so you can see the real-world impact of your generosity.
