Covid-19 is presenting a challenge to us all, not just at the present moment as we enter Level 2, but also in the future weeks and months as we move cautiously forward into a new situation which will test us in different ways. We are all in the same waka and more than ever need to pull together with kindness, compassion and strength.
Our Trustees, all local people who care deeply about their community, have worked hard to set up the Foundation over the past year and establish the beginnings of a community fund that will grow to support people and build resilience in our district forever. During this national emergency, when our communities are heading into unknown difficulties over the next few months, we are talking with community leaders and key organisations to consider how we can best offer support in the district.
At times like these, we often reflect on our priorities in life, and many of you may be considering helping to grow the community fund so that it is able to offer practical support to those in need at a time of crisis and challenge in the future. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this.
