Grant details
Individual grants awarded quarterly to nurses working in Balclutha, Milton, Owaka, Lawrence, and Tapanui.
Grant amounts vary. Eligible expenses include course fees, conference fees, and travel/accommodation costs associated with relevant professional development
Applications are accepted year-round. Funding decisions are made quarterly on 31 March, 30 June, 30 September, and 31 December.
Requirements
Proof of enrolment in further education relevant to nursing responsibilities
Currently employed as a nurse in a health facility located in South Otago
Receipts must be provided before grant payment can be issued
This annual scholarship currently offers up to $2,500 to provide support to the latest generation of Clutha youth training in agriculture and farming at Telford, the agricultural campus of Te Pūkenga - Southern Institute of Technology.

Tips for applying
When applying, applicants should outline their current involvement and the contributions they plan to make in the future to the agricultural industries of New Zealand.
Applicants must attend a short interview with Clutha Foundation representatives, as part of the decision-making process.
Clutha Foundation may ask for the first instalment of the Scholarship to be refunded if the student does not complete the full year of study.
How are recipients selected?
The recipient are selected on the basis of:
Enrolled on one of the following full year courses:
- Diploma in Agriculture
- NZ Certificate in Animal Technology (Rural Animal Technician)
- Farming Systems & Equipment
- An equivalent full-time, NZQA approved programme offered at Telford campusFinancial circumstances
Results or marks gained in an examination or assignment
Personality and character
The successful applicant will receive 50% of their scholarship on commencement of study and 50% on successful completion of a full year of study.
Annual scholarship for high school students to attend the Blue Light Life Skills Camp.
Scholarship Details
Annual scholarship for one student from Tokomairiro High School, Catlins Area School, Lawrence Area School, and Blue Mountain College and two students from South Otago High School.
Scholarship provides up to $500 annually per recipient to attend Blue Light Life Skills Camp. Paid upon proof of enrolment.
Recipients must be aged between 14 to 17 years old.
Recipients are selected by their respective schools. This scholarship is awarded by nomination and not contestable.
Annual scholarship for a South Otago High School student to attend an Outward Bound Course.
Scholarship Details
Annual scholarship for one student from South Otago High School
Scholarship provides up to $2,000 to attend an Outward Bound Course. Paid upon proof of enrolment.
Recipient is selected by South Otago High School. This scholarship is awarded by nomination and not contestable.

What supporting information do I need?
When applying we need to know a few details about you and what you are requesting a scholarship for. We recommend gathering this information before beginning your application:
verified bank account details (deposit slip or bank statement)
your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Before starting the online application process it is important to carefully read the application form and gather the information you need. You can save the application by putting in placeholder data, and returning later. Applications cannot be changed once you submit your application.
What are the conditions of receiving a scholarship?
Verify the funds have been deposited into your bank account
Provide evidence the funds have been used for the stated purpose (invoices, receipts, etc)
Return any funds not used for the stated purpose to Clutha Foundation
Your name and the amount awarded may be released to media or appear on the Clutha Foundation website, quarterly newsletter, and Facebook page.
